Slumbering Tension

Salt seizes the air.  A tide of slumbering tension rolls in.  The world quiets suddenly.  The clouds part to reveal a deep blue sky devoid of even a single bird.  Warm sand tints the air with a flush of heat.  The tide takes on the warmth and pulls it in.  The sun bakes the sand into a hardened shell and cracks begin to form.  It chips away and dulls as it begins to feel time.  The tide rolls out leaving salty trails and stinging dryness.  Night rolls in.  Clouds cover.  Feathers fall.  Thunder threatens in the distance.
