She steps into herself and reflects on what she knows and on what she understands. The shadows fall on different sides now. She wades through the files and characters, briefly touching on each one to regain her bearings. Much is the same, yet backwards and alien. She pauses a moment to sweep away a cobweb that isn’t there. Dizziness overwhelms her and she takes a step back. She will not stumble, not this time. She sits down to resume control. She picks up her notebook and pen. Her work begins, only this time it’s not for reference or even reflection necessarily. Instead, she looks outside and feels her own presence. A smirk, a silence, an awareness.
