Time Wash

It’s amazing – the bits and pieces of our past that we cling to like a childhood teddy bear. Of course, these are the very things we often despised when we had them. I used to say that time didn’t really exist except as some man-made invention. Now I know better. Time is really the force that washes over our pasts, leaving the damp, but smudged-around-the-edges footprints in the sand. Eventually it wears it all away – whisks it into the great sea of communal history where it ceases to be yours.
